Considering a cheap 2010 Challenger as a second project car, and something under the hood does not smell right, figuratively. Listing says one engine, a couple of stickers say another, and the seller's story has already changed once. I know the VIN records what the car was born with. Can VIN data actually identify an engine swap, in the sense of proving the current engine is not original? Or does it only tell me the birth engine and leave the detective work about the present one to me?
